LID CARE
Thea is the market leader in lid-care products across Europe. We focus on developing safe and effective products with clinical evidence, that are preservative-free and easy to use. These products form an essential part in Blepharitis and dry eye management.
Thorough daily lid hygiene and lid care is an important step in the prevention and treatment of diseases of the ocular surface such as chronic eyelid margin inflammation (blepharitis) including potential infestation with demodex mites, meibomian gland dysfunction and dry eye disease.
The products from Théa Pharma specially developed for lid hygiene have proven themselves:
Blephaclean® - a daily eyelid wipe to help treat eyelid inflammation commonly associated with dry eye disease and blepharitis
Blephagel® - the preservative-free revolution in eyelid hygiene that cools, cleans and soothes inflamed eyelids
Blephasol® - a gentle, easy to use micellar solution for removing oily debris and crusted matter from the eyelids and eyelashes
They clean and regenerate sensitive eyelids, eyelid rims and eyelashes. They promote the natural healing process for inflammation and irritation of the eyelid rims.
Blephademodex® - relieves a chronic eyelid inflammation (blepharitis) caused by Demodex infestation
In addition, Théa Pharma offers
Blephasteam® an innovative electronically controlled device for moisture and heat therapy for the effective treatment of meibomian gland disorders

Introducing Blephaclean®
Blephaclean is a daily eyelid wipe containing a gentle, micellar solution, free from preservatives, parabens, soap and perfumes
Blephaclean keeps the eyelids clean whilst respecting the skin around the eyes and its natural bacteria
Blephaclean wipes are used to help treat symptoms of blepharitis (eyelid inflammation) which is commonly associated with dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction.
Blephaclean wipes are clinically proven to reduce symptoms of blepharitis; after 21 days of twice-daily use, patient OSDI scores were reduced to ‘asymptomatic’ in 55% of patients, with significant overall improvements in ocular comfort (p<0.001).
Blephaclean wipes improved ocular symptoms, with patients reporting less crusting around the eyelashes, redness around lid margins, heavy or puffy eyelids and eyelids stuck together in the mornings.
Blepharitis is a key cause of cataract cancellations. Providing pre-operative cataract patients with lid hygiene advice resulted in a 58% reduction (p=0.03) in cancellation rates. Microbial load on the eyelid was significantly reduced after using Blephaclean for 3 days compared to placebo.

Blephasteam® is a unique medical device that delivers controlled moisture levels and heat therapy to help relieve symptoms associated with meibomian gland dysfunction
Introducing Blephasteam®
Blephasteam is a unique eyelid warming device to relieve symptoms of meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and associated diseases
Blephasteam provides electronically controlled moisture and heat therapy to unblock the meibomian glands
Blephasteam is a unique, CE marked eyelid-warming medical device that helps relieve symptoms of MGD and associated eye diseases such as posterior blepharitis, meibomitis, ocular rosacea, chalazion, contact lens intolerance and dry eye.
By unblocking the meibomian glands, tear quality is improved, which in turn has positive benefits for eye health, vision and comfort. Designed in collaboration with eye care specialists, Blephasteam is based on scientific studies by Dr JR Fuller that suggest daily application of heat and humidity has a beneficial effect on various MGD conditions.
Unlike some alternative eyelid warming devices, such as hot compresses, Blephasteam is electronically controlled to maintain a stable heat for the duration of treatment.
