VISMED® MULTI

Eye drops with hyaluronic acid in preservative-free multi-dose system

VISMED® MULTI is identical with the classic version of VISMED® (single-dose vials), but is presented in an intuitive preservative- free multidose dispenser. The bottle is precise and has a reproducible drop delivery system in an easily squeezable soft polymer container.

This practical bottle is simple to use and can be kept for 3 months after opening, which makes VISMED® MULTI economical to use without losing the benefits of VISMED®.

VISMED® MULTI is preservative-free and easy to use. It contains 10ml of VISMED® which is the equivalent to 30 monodose units - around 250 drops of 0.18% sodium hyaluronate. The bottle will remain sterile for up to 3 months after first use.

VISMED® LIGHT

VISMED® LIGHT offers a cost effective and gentle solution for mild dry eye symptoms. Using minimal concentrations of preservatives and pH balanced with natural tears to be gentle on the eye yet sterile for 3 months once opened.

For lubrication of the eyes in case of sensations of dryness, burning and ocular fatigue, and other minor complaints including dust, smoke, dry heat, air-conditioning, extended computer screen use or contact lens wear.

VISMED® LIGHT is suitable for all types of contact lenses. A multidose bottle of VISMED® LIGHT contains 15ml of 0.1% sodium hyaluronate.

Hyaluronic acid occurs everywhere in the body where the lubrication and protection of tissues and especially of joint surfaces is essential:

For example, high concentrations of hyaluronic acid are not only found in the joint, but also in the vitreous humor or in the aqueous humor.

Viscoelasticity

Hyaluronic acid is also viscoelastic when mixed with water: when at rest it forms a moisturizing layer on the eye and can reduce the mechanical friction between the eyelid and the eyeball when you blink.

The special chemical-physical properties of hyaluronic acid explain its diverse uses in nature, among other things as a coating, lubricant, shock absorber or form stabilizer.

Hyaluronic acid combines all the necessary properties for an excellent moisturizer for the surface of the eye and hyaluronic acid gel has been used successfully in eye surgery for years.

Electrolytes and ions

In addition to hyaluronic acid to bind water, the tear substitutes also contain important ions that are present in natural tears in physiological concentrations:

Calcium and magnesium play a role in cell adhesion, cell organization and cellular transport. Potassium maintains the thickness of the cornea.

Viscoelasticity

Hyaluronic acid combines the physical characteristics of elastic solids with those of viscous liquids, ie it is viscoelastic as well as a mixture of hyaluronic acid and water is viscoelastic.

As a result, it forms a moisturizing layer on the eye with clumped hyaluronic acid molecules and high viscosity (flow heaviness / ´thickness´).
